Reduce and eliminate moderate signs of aging without surgery!
If there are multiple types of lasers, then which one is the best?
The answer is, unfortunately, it depends. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to sell you something.
At Under the Clouds, we recommend both carbon dioxide (CO2) and erbium lasers (ErYAG) depending on the condition of the skin and what our patients want to look like.
Both of these lasers are proven to actively reduce moderate signs of aging, and each can be tuned to ablative or non-ablative levels.
Come in and discover which is right for you!
What is more important than the type of laser is how we use it. This is shown through ablative and non-ablative effect.
Ablative treatment actively removes layers of skin, whereas non-ablative lasers pass through the skin, stimulating deeper tissue without removing layers. Ablative treatments are therefore more significant, entailing longer recovery times than non-ablative work but also repairing more significant damage and creating more dramatic results.
Halo laser uses ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in one treatment and has been shown to produce great improvements with much less downtime. Learn more about Halo Laser.
Though there are many different types of lasers, each works in a similar way. Lasers eradicate damaged skin cells (ablative), also stimulating the body’s natural healing process and even causing metabolic changes in the skin (non-ablative), changes that turn back the clock to a more youthful metabolic rate.
Lasers clear away damaged skin cells, cause new healthy cells to grow, and cause healing processes to become more like they were at a younger age. Some of these changes occur at the genetic level. It sounds like science fiction but has been proven repeatedly in scientific studies.
Laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical or minimally invasive procedure; however, it does take some time for the skin to fully recover from treatment. The length of recovery depends on the treatment: the lasers used, the severity and location of wrinkles being treated, whether we use PRP and growth factors to boost natural rate of recovery, your skin’s metabolic rate, as well as social factors, namely, how are your makeup skills and can you be seen in public with a slightly pinkish complexion?
