The musculature of the hand is truly remarkable, and in order to properly serve the hand we relieve pressure in both extrinsic and intrinsic muscles. Extrinsic is a fancy term for “outside,” these muscles occurring along forearm in two major groupings. Intrinsic as you might have guessed signifies “inside,” referring to those small muscles contained within the hand itself.

Our licensed aestheticians give your hand a hand by stimulating musculature, relieving and resetting tension within each muscle grouping.

Thenar eminence, the bulge beneath the thumb, contains the opponens pollicis, abductor pollicis brevis, and flexor pollicis brevis. These muscles give life and meaning to the opposable thumb, one of the traits that mark humans as unique from most other mammals. We should all take a moment to be grateful for our thenar eminence; we show it with massage!

Of second greatest import in the hand are the muscles located within the hypothenar eminence. If you turn over your hand, you will see a slight hill underneath the little finger. Our aestheticians smooth out the opponens digiti minimi, abductor digiti minimi, and flexor digiti minimi brevis, all controlling the various movements of the pinky.

There are 34 muscles in the hand, and within this 15-minute treatment, each receives between 20-40 seconds of focus, leaving the muscles refreshed, revitalized, and nourished.
